Course - 7 Activity 2: Share Your Thoughts

 How is the language spoken by the children in your class in their day-to-day lives different from the language that is used in the textbooks? Please explain with the help of an example in about 100 words. Share your Thoughts.

  1. In my class, some students belong to adivashi community. Their mother tongue is santhali, which differ from the medium of instructions in school. Anyone can see result of this language difference. Engagement of these students in learning process, is less than other students. Their hesitation can be marked clearly.They rarely ask any questions. They feel uncomfortable during responding their reactions.But in their own group, they exchange their thoughts comfortably.

  2. Children use a lot of such words which are only native to their mother tongue. For example when I first started taking my class in a tribal belt which is an interior block I.e, SATGAWAN of KODERMA district, I came to know words like WOJE means there
    EIJE means here type of words which are all new for me on that time.
